Orchard Spritz – A Pear-fect Summer Sipper
When the sun makes its rare but glorious appearance in Blighty, you’ll want a drink in hand that’s as light on its feet as your best garden-party banter. Enter the Orchard Spritz, a sparkling little number that pairs Pearson’s Medium Dry Perry with elderflower cordial and a splash of prosecco. It’s floral, fizzy, and frankly a bit flirty.
It’s the sort of drink you could serve at a family gathering and still feel sophisticated, even when Uncle Nigel starts banging on about Brexit again.
Orchard Spritz Recipe Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 100ml Pearson’s Medium Dry Perry
- 25ml elderflower cordial
- 75ml prosecco
- Soda water, top top
- Cucumber ribbons
- Fresh mint sprig, slapped once (you’ll see why)
Method
- Fill a large wine glass with ice – go heavy if it’s hot out.
- Pour in the pear cider and elderflower cordial.
- Top with prosecco, then a splash of soda water.
- Garnish with a long cucumber ribbon and a slap-happy mint sprig. (Pro tip: slap the mint against your hand to wake up the oils. No, seriously. It’s a thing.)
When to Drink It
Perfect for garden parties, baby showers, and pretending you understand cricket.
Cheers me dears!
